World Packaging Organisation President's Award winners announced and 130 WorldStar winners honoured in Rosemont, Chicago, USA

The WorldStar winners from the competition 2006 were honoured at an award ceremony in Rosemont. Chicago May 15 lh. 2007. In total, the WorldStar 2006 competition attracted 264 entries from 35 countries. Out of these 130 were selected as WorldStar 2006 winners during the jury meeting held in Poznan, Poland in November 2006.
The ceremony and banquet held in the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center in Rosemont were hosted by the Institute of Packaging Professionals, loPP. The banquet was attended by some 200 guests including winners, members of the World Packaging Organisation (WPO), special guests and representatives of the American and international packaging industry and associations as well as representatives of the press. The winners received the prestigious WorldStar trophy from the President of WPO, Mr Keith A. Pearson. South Africa.
New for WorldStar 2006 was that the "best-of-the-best" President's Award was presented in three levels: Gold, Silver and Bronze. The three "President's Awards Year 2006" were announced during the evening by Mr Keith A. Pearson.
The President's Award Gold was given to:
Amgen for the packaging "Aranesp prefilled SureClick autoinjector"
President's Award Silver was given to:
Emmi Switzerland AG / Georg Menshen GmbH & Co. KG for the packaging "Emmi Lacto Tab"
President's Award Bronze, was given to:
YAMAHA KUMAMOTO Products Co. Ltd. for the packaging "Packaging solution for YAMAHA
Outboard Motor 9.9-15PS".
Deadline for entry to WorldStar 2007 is September 14 th, 2007. The entry form and brochure are available at www.worldpackaging.org. The Jury meeting will be held in Athens, Greece, October 24 th. The prize award ceremony for the winners of WorldStar 2007 will be held in Accra, Ghana, Africa in May 2008 and will be hosted by the Institute of Packaging, Ghana.
